SC Junior Olympic Championship 2013
The SC JO Association Championship Schedule is attached. Perry Funnie and I worked extensively based on our numbers last year to make the schedule more realistic to meet our current needs. Keep in mind nothing is 100%. We have decided to waive athletes in the Steeple Chase this year because last year we only had 5 athletes total. We will also waive the multi events. We thought we would be able to contest them but with the New Balance in conflict with us this year we do not have the available Officials to do so. We have moved the 4 X800m relay to Friday as well.
There is a possibility that we may still have to adjust some field event times on Saturday and Sunday and you will know that for sure after the CoachO registration closes. CoachO should be up later today but no later than tomorrow. Registration will close on Tuesday June 11th. There will be a $20.00 late fee per athlete if you need to register after that date. Last year was really crazy with late registration so to get a better handle on it there will be a late fee attached.
The Meet information sheet will be out as soon as I receive the link from CoachO so I can include it in the information. Please try to use the age group names with your athletes so they become familiar with them at the meet.
If your athlete will be running in the New Balance Meet in any capacity, they can receive a waiver to the Region IV meet but I need to know and they must register for their events at the first round which is the Association level to be in the system in the events they plan to compete.
Boys and Girls State is also that weekend if your athlete will be attending and will miss some of their events, let me know and they can receive a waiver.
Please do not hesitate to notify me for any reason your athlete may not be able to compete that weekend and we will determine if they can be waived to the next round.
We are here to afford the athletes an opportunity to shine it is up to us to make the meet a success. With that said, please forward me the names of your volunteers for the meet. We need as many as you can spare because some of our officials will be working the New Balance Meet and we will require all of the help we can get.
Coaches, please get your background screening done as soon as you can. It is a requirement to be recognized as a Coach in USATF. It is required for free entry into the USATF meets as well.
The Region IV meet will be held in Winter Park, FL. They are currently putting the packet together and we should have it in a few days.

Coaches,
The Regional Championship that was to be held in Jacksonville, Florida has been moved. The Florida Association has yet to determine a new location. I will keep everyone informed and email as soon as a venue has been determined.
Please cancel your reservation in Jacksonville FL, we have been informed that it will not be in Jacksonville.
